How do I make my schedule events private for selected guests?
Your wedding events are public by default, meaning that all your guests will see the event in your schedule, and if you're collecting attendances for the event, all guests will be asked if they're attending in the RSVP.
Private events on the other hand, are only visible to the guests that you specify.
A common example is inviting family and close friends only to the ceremony, and everyone to the evening reception.
Using this example, to make your events private:
- Create a new Guest Tag (or multiple tags), or use a default one, to group the guests you would like to invite.
- Navigate to your Events and click on the edit icon for your chosen event.
- Click Private event for guests: Select tags
- Select the guest tag you wish to apply and click Done, or create a new Tag by selecting Create a new Tag.Top tip: Create a tag referring to the event itself i.e Ceremony or Reception, rather than the group of people that are invited.
For example, use the tag Ceremony, rather than Family. This way, you'll have more flexibility, and can always add a non-family member later on.If applying multiple tags, guests only need to have 1 of the tags assigned for it to apply.
Example: The Ceremony has tags Family and Bridal Party applied. A guest with just the Family tag assigned will be invited. - You can now see the tags applied for the event, and remove any by clicking the cross on the tag.
- Click Save Event, and that's it! Now, only guests with one of the tags assigned will be able to see that event in their Schedule, and answer any questions that are applied to event.
- If you change your mind, and wish to invite all your guests to the event, you can simply remove all the tags for that event.
